Apple TV+ has announced the global premiere date for Smoke, a new crime thriller series starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett.

Smoke features a top-notch cast that includes Primetime Emmy® nominees Taron Egerton (Black Bird, Rocketman) and Jurnee Smollett (Lovecraft Country, Underground) in the lead roles, along with Rafe Spall (Trying), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Lincoln Lawyer), Hannah Emily Anderson (The Purge), Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna), Adina Porter (American Horror Story), Greg Kinnear (Shining Vale), and John Leguizamo (The Power).
Inspired by true events and by truth.media’s acclaimed Firebug podcast, the series follows Michelle Calderone (Smollett), a troubled police detective, and Dave Gudsen (Egerton), an enigmatic arson investigator, who team up to locate and stop two serial arsonists — igniting a twisted game of secrets and suspicions in the process.
Smoke, an Apple TV+ Original Series, premieres globally with two episodes on Friday, June 27, exclusively on Apple TV+. New episodes will drop on Fridays through August 8.
A production of Apple Studios, the series is created by Dennis Lehane (Black Bird, Mr. Mercedes), who also serves as writer and executive producer. Egerton executive produces alongside Richard Plepler on behalf of EDEN Productions, Bradley Thomas and Dan Friedkin through Imperative Entertainment, and Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jane Bartelme. Academy Award® and Emmy® Award winner Kary Antholis, who hosted the Firebug podcast, executive produces for Crime Story Media, LLC. Emmy® Award winner Marc Smerling serves as executive producer for Truth Podcasting Corp. Series directors include Skogland, Chappelle, and Jim McKay.
