Here’s one for the whole family: Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie, a new Peanuts special in which Marcie steps into the spotlight in her first-ever special.
The Peanuts programs have been some of my (and maybe your) favorites since I was a kid, and this new special looks adorable.
Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie follows Marcie, a self-professed introvert who loves her solitude but also enjoys helping her friends. To wit: To help Peppermint Patty train for the school golf championship, Marcie caddies for her and offers thoughtful and deliberate advice to help “sir” win.
Meanwhile, back at school, Marcie is nominated for class president. She starts to observe other friends and classmates needing help — be it with traffic jams in the hallway or lunchtime pizza shortages — and comes up with brilliant solutions to help them. But she struggles to share her ideas in a way that doesn’t force her to be in the spotlight.
Then Marcie is unexpectedly elected as class president — a role she never wanted. Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, she struggles to cope with the expectations of her new job and retreats as far from the public eye as possible. As the golf championship begins, Marcie is still in hiding and Peppermint Patty is forced to tee off with Charlie Brown filling in as her caddie. But after some wise advice and a little introspection, Marcie realizes she can still make a difference for her friends and the school — empowered to buck other people’s expectations and embrace her own unique way of doing things, thus allowing her to help her friends in her own way and out of the spotlight.
Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie premieres globally on Friday, August 18, exclusively on Apple TV+.
