Paramount+ announced today the premiere date for its highly-anticipated Original anthology series Lawmen: Bass Reeves, starring David Oyelowo. Check out the teaser.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves is an all-new, standalone anthology series that reveals the untold stories of iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history.
Emmy® Award nominee David Oyelowo (Nightingale, Selma) executive produces and stars as the titular character in Lawmen: Bass Reeves, which follows the journey of Reeves and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting more than 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves, a Paramount+ Original series, premieres with two episodes in the US and all Paramount+ international markets on Sunday, November 5, exclusively on Paramount+.
The lead cast includes Lauren E. Banks (City on a Hill), Demi Singleton (Godfather of Harlem), Forrest Goodluck (The English), Barry Pepper (The Kennedys), Honorary Oscar® recipient Donald Sutherland (Trust), and Emmy® Award nominee Dennis Quaid (The Special Relationship).
Shea Whigham (Perry Mason) and Garrett Hedlund (Tulsa King) guest star in the series, with Joaquina Kalukango (Lovecraft Country), Lonnie Chavis (This Is Us), Grantham Coleman (Rustin), Tosin Morohunfola (Run the World), Dale Dickey (A League of Their Own), Rob Morgan (Stranger Things), Ryan O’Nan (Big Sky), Margot Bingham (The Walking Dead), Mo Brings Plenty (Yellowstone), Justin Hurtt-Dunkley (Mare of Easttown), and Bill Dawes (Alaska Daily) in recurring roles.
