Daniel Giménez Cacho (Who Killed Sara?, Club de Cuervos) leads the cast of Familia, playing Leo, the owner of an olive ranch in Guadalupe Valley in the Baja. Once a month, Leo gathers his children — son Benny, a teen with Down’s syndrome, and daughters Rebeca, Julia, and Mariana — for a family lunch to visit with each other and catch up on what’s happening in their lives.

During the latest gathering, Leo shares some unexpected news: A food company has made a very good offer to purchase the family ranch, leaving him and his daughters with just a few days to decide whether or not to sell the place where they all grew up. As the family members discuss the future of their idyllic olive farm, the complexities of their relationships emerge through laughs and confessions.

Directed by Primetime Emmy® Awards nominee and Cannes Film Festival Winner Rodrigo García (Big Love, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her), Familia, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Friday, December 15, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

The cast includes Ilse Salas (Crime Diaries: The Candidate, Plaza Catedral), Cassandra Ciangherotti (Thursday’s Widows, Los Espookys), Natalia Solián (I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me, An Unknown Enemy), Maribel Verdú (Elite, You Cannot Hide), and Ángeles Cruz.
