Tubi announced today its acquisition of exclusive US and Canada streaming rights and the premiere date for South African crime thriller series Devil’s Peak. Check out the trailer.
Based on Deon Meyer’s best-selling novel Devil’s Peak, the first title in his “Benny Griessel Mysteries” series, crime thriller series Devil’s Peak follows Detective Benny Griessel (Hilton Pelser, Dangerous Liaisons, Kissing Booth), who is tasked with tracking down a vigilante killer whose crimes are capturing the imagination of the populace of Cape Town. As he gets closer to his mark, Griessel finds himself drawn into a dark and dangerous world where nothing is what it seems.
The five-episode limited series costars Sisanda Henna (Inconceivable, Deep State) and Tarryn Wyngaard (The Watch, Raised by Wolves).
Devil’s Peak premieres in the US and Canada on Monday, January 15, exclusively on Tubi.
Written and created for television by Matthew Orton (Operation Finale, Moon Knight), who adapted the series with Amy Jephta (Trackers), the series is directed by Jozua Malherbe (Lioness). The executive producers are Orton, Laura Lankester from Lookout Point, and Francis Hopkinson from Expanded Media, with Nomsa Philiso, Yolisa Phahle, and Allan Sperling of M-Net also executive producing.
