Peacock has announced its order for Laid, a new comedy series starring Stephanie Hsu, written and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna.
Laid is based on the Australian comedy series of the same name, created by Marieke Hardy and Kirsty Fisher and produced by Liz Watts.
The American series Laid is a twisted rom-com in which the answer to the question, “Why can’t I find love; is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding, “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”
Laid stars Academy Award® nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Path) as a woman who, after finding out that her former lovers are dying in unusual ways, must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward.
Written and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Young Rock, Fresh Off the Boat) and Sally Bradford McKenna (The Goldbergs, Will & Grace), the series comes from Universal Television, in partnership with Fierce Baby, Davis Entertainment Television, Porchlight Films, and All3Media International. Also executive producing are John Davis and John Fox for Davis Entertainment; Jennifer Carreras for Fierce Baby; Marieke Hardy, Kirsty Fisher, and Liz Watts for Porchlight Films; and All3Media International.
Stay tuned for updates.
