Netflix has set the global premiere date for Players, a new romantic comedy film starring Gina Rodriguez, Tom Ellis, and Damon Wayans Jr.
In Players, New York sportswriter Mack (Gina Rodriguez, Not Dead Yet) has spent years devising successful hook-up “plays” with best friend Adam (Damon Wayans Jr., Happy Endings) and their crew. While it has led to countless one-night stands over the years, following their playbook comes with a strict set of ground rules; chief among them: you can’t build a relationship from a play.
However, when Mack unexpectedly falls for her latest target, charming war correspondent Nick (Tom Ellis, Lucifer), she begins to rethink the game entirely. As the lines between work, fun, friendship, and romance begin to blur, Mack must learn what it takes to go from simply scoring to playing for keeps.
Players, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
The film costars Joel Courtney (Jesus Revolution), Augustus Prew (The Morning Show), Liza Koshy (Good Burger 2), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), and Marin Hinkle (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). It is directed by Trish Sie (Sitting in Bars with Cake) from a screenplay by Whit Anderson (Daredevil). The producers are Ross M. Dinerstein, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, and Ryan Christians.
