Prime Video and Freevee announced today the new special Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés, in which the world-renowned chef is joined by celebrity guests.
I met José Andrés several years ago at a farmer’s market. He is in person the way he is on television: down to earth, personable, genuine. Muy simpático. I knew of him from watching his travel-food series, Made in Spain, which aired on public television stations in the US, and afterward learned that he’s a New York Times bestselling author. (I’ve also eaten at a few of his restaurants, where the meals were tasty.)
The James Beard Award-winning chef has been on television a lot since then, including in Undiscovered Haiti with José Andrés and the Daytime Emmy® Award-winning culinary series José Andrés & Family in Spain, as well as in national and international news segments, when he and his team at World Central Kitchen are on the front lines of humanitarian, climate, and community crises, providing meals to the people affected.
His latest show is the half-hour special Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés, in which he invites actors Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), and O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) over for food and conversation. In the kitchen, they get behind the stove with Chef, getting their hands dirty with approachable, Spanish-influenced recipes, and laughing through the stories that inspire them.
Cooking can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be, as Andrés embraces imperfection and spontaneity in the kitchen, giving his celebrity guests and us viewers important takeaways to apply in their and our own homes.
Dinner Party Diaries with José Andrés will premiere in the US, UK, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela on Prime Video, and in the US and UK on Amazon Freevee — both on Tuesday, March 19.
A production of Amazon MGM Studios, the special is executive produced by José Andrés, Richard Wolffe, Matthew Goldberg, Ellen Rocamora, Max Wagner, Ryan Schiavo, and Michael Antinoro.
