Netflix has announced the start of production on Caught, a new drama thriller limited series from Argentina, based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name.
Filming on Caught has started in the city of Bariloche and the surrounding areas of Patagonia, Argentina, and will continue in Buenos Aires.
Based on Caught, the New York Times best-selling novel by Harlan Coben, the drama thriller follows reporter Ema Garay (Soledad Villamil, A Twelve-Year Night, So Much Love to Give), who gains visibility amongst digital journalists by catching criminals who tend to evade justice in Bariloche. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Leo Mercer (Juan Minujín, El Marginal, I Don’t Expect Anyone to Believe Me), a social worker and referent, who ends up being the main suspect in her investigation into the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl. While Ema tries to discover the truth, she will also have to confront herself.
The cast of the six-episode limited series includes Alberto Ammann (Narcos: Mexico) and Matías Recalt (Society of the Snow), along with Fernán Mirás (Maradona: Blessed Dream), Mike Amigorena (Limbo), and Carmela Rivero.
Also featuring in Caught are Maite Aguilar, Victoria Almeida, Patricio Aramburu, Tania Casciani, Pablo Cura, Germán de Silva, Alián Devetac, Juan Eriji, María Figueras, Sofía Guerschuny Pesci, Emma Longhi, Bárbara Massó, Martín Miller, Amanda Minujín, Lautaro Moran, Alexia Moyano, Patricio Rodríguez, Paula Thieberger, and María Ucedo.
Directed by showrunner Miguel Cohan (The Kingdom) and Hernán Goldfrid (The Bronze Garden), the series is written by Miguel Cohan, Ana Cohan (No Return), María Meira (A Sort of Family), and Gonzalo Salaya (The Fragility of Bodies), and produced by Vanessa Ragone of Haddock Films (Elena Knows).
Caught is the latest of Harlan Coben’s book-to-screen adaptations as part of his on-going creative partnership with Netflix. He continues his work with local screenwriters from around the world to bring his novels to life on screen, so far across four languages, including on the British series Fool Me Once, Safe, Stay Close, and The Stranger; French series Gone for Good; Polish series Hold Tight and The Woods; and Spanish series The Innocent.
Coben will also serve as executive producer on Caught through his company, Final Twist Productions.
Caught, a Netflix Series, is expected to launch exclusively on Netflix in 2025.
Stay tuned for updates.
