Netflix has set the global premiere date for the eagerly-awaited second season of the Taiwanese crime thriller series The Victims’ Game.
For fans of The Victims’ Game, the return next month of this taut crime thriller series from Taiwan is welcome news, indeed, as it will have been a four-year wait since Season 1 dropped in April 2020.
The Victims’ Game: Season 2, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, June 21, exclusively on Netflix.
In the first season, Fang Yi-jen (Chang Hsiao-chuan, The Post-Truth World), a forensic detective with Asperger’s syndrome, discovers that his daughter, Chiang Hsiao-meng (Moon Lee, Oh No! Here Comes Trouble), is linked to the series of grisly murders he’s investigating. Willing to risk everything to solve the case, Yi Jen teams up with Hsu Hai-yin (Hsu Wei-ning, Shards of Her), a dog-on-a-bone investigative journalist.
Season 2 finds Fang, now a former investigator, and Hsu, who has transitioned professionally into a PR manager for a children’s foundation, starting a new life with Chiang, who works as a trauma cleaner at crime scenes. But their fresh start takes a turn for the worse when Yi-jen becomes the prime suspect in a series of deaths that are connected to a homicide case he worked on fifteen years ago.
Overseeing the present-day case is prosecutor Chang Keng-ha (Dean Fujioka, Full Metal Alcehmist), who doubts the integrity of both Fang and his mentor, Lin Ching-jui (King Jieh-wen, Shang hun). So, to uncover the truth and prove his innocence, lest he lose his relationship with Chiang again, Fang enlists the help of Detective Chao Cheng-kuan (Wang Shih-hsien, Your Name Engraved Herein) and forensic examiner Hsueh Hsin-ning (Tarcy Su, You and Me).
Directed by David Chuang (Danger Zone) and Chen Kuan-chung (Danger Zone), and written by Chen Cheng-yu (Wake Up), Season 2 of The Victims’ Game is produced by Phil Tang and Hsu Kuo-lun and executive produced by Hank Tseng.
