Based on Three Women, the #1 New York Times best-selling novel by Lisa Taddeo, the limited series Three Women is an intimate, haunting portrayal of female desire.

The ten-episode series stars Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies, The Descendants), Betty Gilpin (Gaslit, GLOW), DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It, Jurassic World: Dominion), Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin, The Pact), Blair Underwood (In Treatment, Impeachment: American Crime Story), Jason Ralph (The Magicians, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and John Patrick Amedori (Dear White People, She Won’t Forget).

The show finds three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives.

Lina (Gilpin), a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is plagued with a body of pain and exhaustion from her stagnant, passionless, decade-long marriage. A teenager at heart, yearning for the thrill and adrenaline of young love, all Lina wants is to be loved and desired. So she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life.

Sloane (Wise), a glamorous and massively successful entrepreneur in the Northeast, seemingly has it all with an equally successful husband, Richard (Underwood), and beautiful daughter. The couple have a committed open marriage that makes it hard to pin down where Sloane’s desires truly lie. Then two sexy new strangers appear in their lives and threaten their aspirational love story.

Maggie (Creevy), a student in North Dakota, is living with the lasting trauma of her secret relationship with her married high school English teacher. Overwhelmed by the cost of carrying this around while he suffers no consequences, she decides to file a complaint… and is forced to weather an intense storm in the aftermath.

The connection between the three women is Gia (Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family and struggling to discover a topic she feels passionate enough to write about. While taking a trip across the country, she crosses paths with these three women, each unheard and misunderstood, and feels compelled to share their true stories and desires in a space free of judgment. After persuading each of these spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories, her relationships with them change the course of her life forever.

Three Women premieres in the US on Friday, September 13, at midnight on the Starz app. On linear, it debuts later that evening on Starz, at 10pm ET/PT.

Laura Eason (The Loudest Voice, House of Cards) is the series showrunner, and author Taddeo serves as Creator and Executive Producer. Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum also serve as Executive Producers.
