Paramount+ has set the US premiere date for Apartment 7A, the new Original psychological thriller film starring Julia Garner.
Based on Ira Levin’s legendary horror classic Rosemary’s Baby, Apartment 7A is set in 1965 New York City and tells the story prior to that of the novel, exploring what happened in the infamous Bramford building before Rosemary moved in.
Three-time Primetime Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna, The Americans) stars in the lead role of the film, whose cast also includes Academy Award® winner Dianne Wiest (Bullets Over Broadway, Mayor of Kingstown), Jim Sturgess (Home Before Dark, Across the Universe), and Kevin McNally (“Pirates of the Caribbean” films, TURN: Washington’s Spies), along with Marli Siu (Alex Rider), Andrew Buchan (Broadchurch), Rosy McEwen (The Alienist), and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).
In Apartment 7A, ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford.
When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career, as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.
Apartment 7A, a Paramount+ Original film, premieres in the US on Friday, September 27, exclusively on Paramount+. The film will launch in additional international markets later this year.
A Paramount+ Original movie in association with Paramount Pictures, the film is a Platinum Dunes / Sunday Night Production. The director is Natalie Erika James (Relic), with a screen story by Skylar James (Blue Boy) and a screenplay by Natalie Erika James, Christian White (Clickbait), and Skylar James. It is executive produced by Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg, and produced by John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, p.g.a, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, p.g.a, and Brad Fuller.
The film will also be featured in the Paramount+ Peak Screaming collection, a curated lineup of new Originals, fan-favorite horror movies, and iconic Halloween episodes from beloved series.
