Season 5 of the gritty, fan-favorite Brazilian crime drama, Impuros, is set for its premiere in the US and international markets.
Set in Rio de Janeiro in the 1990s and based on real events, crime drama Impuros follows two men: Evandro (Raphael Logam, a two-time International Emmy® Award nominee for this role) and Morello (Rui Ricardo Diaz, Desperate Lies).
Evandro is not your typical drug dealer. After being recruited, he, with his ambition and cunning, quickly moved up the ranks to become the head of one of the largest narcotics trafficking organizations in the city’s Morro do Dendê favelas. Morello is the self-destructive federal DEA agent who is hellbent on bringing Evandro down.
Following on from the events in Season 4, the new season finds Evandro has everything he wanted — controlling the production, distribution, and export of the “white gold.” But with such an expansive business, he struggles to keep everything under control, especially his family. Meanwhile, Morello is caught between life and death, and will have to team up with unlikely people to get to Evandro. And Afonso (João Vitor Silva, Under Pressure) and Inês (Karize Brum, Pride and Passion) realize that a life of crime comes at a high price.
Impuros: Season 5, a Hulu Original, premieres in the US as a ten-episode binge tomorrow, Wednesday, July 24, exclusively on Hulu. It also debuts tomorrow on Disney+ and Star+ in international markets.
