Paramount+ announced today the premiere date for Landman, a new drama series from Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan starring Billy Bob Thornton.
Based on the podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, and set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs — an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.
The series stars Oscar® winner Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade, A Simple Plan) in the lead role as Tommy Norris. Golden Globe® nominee Demi Moore (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, Ghost) stars as Cami Miller, wife to Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris. The recurring guest role of Monty Miller is played by Emmy® winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Fargo, Good Omens).
The cast of the ten-episode first season also includes Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia), with Andy Garcia (“Expendables” franchise) and Michael Peña (End of Watch) as guest stars.
Landman premieres with two episodes on Sunday, November 17, exclusively on Paramount+ in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. New episodes will drop each Sunday through January 12, 2025.
