MGM+ has set the US premiere date for Earth Abides, a new sci-fi drama series starring Alexander Ludwig. Check out the trailer.
Based on Earth Abides, George R. Stewart’s classic, award-winning novel, the new dystopian sci-fi series, Earth Abides, stars Alexander Ludwig (Vikings, Heels) as Ish Williams, a brilliant but solitary young geologist who’s been living a semi-isolated life for months.
Following an unexpected incident, Ish awakens from a coma, only to find that a global plague has all but wiped out humanity. In the aftermath, as the great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, and against his instincts to further isolate, Ish is forced to look for what he was so certain he could live without: other people. He and these last few shattered survivors will be humanity’s second chance, the last hope against the slide into extinction.
Earth Abides, and MGM+ Original Series, premieres in the US on Sunday, December 1, exclusively on MGM+ and its digital channels, including MGM+ on Prime Channels.
Costars in the six-episode series include Jessica Frances Dukes (Ozark), Aaron Tveit (Graceland), Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll (Kim’s Convenience), Elyse Levesque (Cedar Cove), Hilary McCormack (Murdoch Mysteries), Luisa D’Oliveira (The 100), Birkett Turton (Family Law), and Jenna Berman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).
