Based on the critically-acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Légendes (known as The Bureau internationally, more about it below), The Agency stars two-time Academy Award® nominee Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs, 12 Years a Slave, Macbeth, Inglorious Basterds) as Martian, a covert CIA agent.

The ten-episode political thriller follows Martian after he is ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, their romance reignites. His career, his real identity, and his mission are pitted against his heart — hurling both of them into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.

The Agency premieres in the US with two episodes on Friday, November 29, on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime® plan before its on-air debut. The title will launch exclusively on Paramount+ internationally in the UK, Canada, Australia, Italy, Germany, Latin America, and Brazil. It will also premiere on Paramount+ in Japan next year. The series is co-distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studios.

It features a star-studded cast that includes series regulars Jeffrey Wright (Westworld), Jodie Turner-Smith (Bad Monkey), Katherine Waterston (Perry Mason), John Magaro (Orange Is the New Black), Alex Reznik (Babylon), Andrew Brooke (After Life), Harriet Sansom Harris (Shining Vale), India Fowler (The Nevers), Saura Lightfoot-Leon (Masters of the Air), Reza Brojerdi (Marnow Murders), and Richard Gere (Pretty Woman).

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) guest stars, and the recurring cast includes Adam Nagaitis (The Terror), Ambreen Razia (Ted Lasso), Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary), David Harewood (Supergirl), Kurt Egyiawan (House of the Dragon), Ray BLK (Champion), Sabrina Wu (Joy Ride), and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Love/Hate).

Commissioned by Showtime Studios and produced in association with 101 Studios, The Agency is executive produced by Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz (Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios); David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari (101 Studios); George Clooney and Grant Heslov (Smokehouse Pictures); Alex Berger (TOP – The Originals Productions); Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton (Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America); and Michael Fassbender. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth are writers and executive producers; Joe Wright is executive producer and director for the first two episodes.

Le Bureau des Legendes / The Bureau centers on the daily life and missions of agents within the DGSE, France’s principal external security service. It focuses on members of the “Bureau of Legends,” responsible for training and handling deep-cover agents on long-term missions in areas with French interests. Living under false identities for years, these agents’ missions are to identify and recruit good intelligence sources. Le Bureau des Legendes was created by Eric Rochant and is a CANAL+ Creation Originale series produced by TOP – The Originals Productions and Federation Studios.
