Netflix has set the global premiere date for the fifth and final season of the streamer’s biggest Brazilian series: Sintonia.
Told through the perspective of three characters, Sintonia explores the universe of music, crime, and religion in São Paulo’s capital.
Doni (Jottapê Carvalho, Brazil Avenue), Nando (Christian Malheiros, 7 Prisoners), and Rita (Bruna Mascarenhas, The Park Maniac) grew up together in the same favela, where they were influenced by the draw of funk, drug trafficking, and the evangelical church. Despite following very different paths, the three childhood friends ultimately realize that to achieve their dreams, they’ll need to rely on and support each other throughout their respective journeys.
The final season of Sintonia opens four years after the Season 4 finale, with Nando, Rita, and Doni facing potentially life-changing challenges. While Nando hatches a risky plan, Rita achieves her dream of becoming an attorney but faces a professional dilemma. And Doni is dealing with the consequences of the past while making a crucial decision that affects the VA Records label. With new tracks and emotions cranked up to a 10, the trio’s friendship will be put to the test one last time.
Sintonia: Season 5, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Wednesday, February 5, exclusively on Netflix.
