Woo hoo! We have a date for the return of Poker Face! And we’ll have more episodes, too!

If you’re not familiar with the show, Poker Face is an engaging mystery-of-the-week series in the vein of Columbo. It’s like a really good burrito (or wrap of your choice), filled with layers of clever stories, intriguing characters played by top-notch guest stars, interesting locations, understated comedy, and more (at no extra charge) — all wrapped up in the Primetime Emmy®-nominated performance by Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black, Russian Doll).

She plays Charlie Cale, a woman who has an uncanny ability to know when someone is lying. When we meet her, she is a casino worker who, after figuring out some shady goings-on, including murder, is forced to go on the run to stay alive. Hitting the road in her Plymouth Barracuda, she makes pit stops and occasionally takes on a job at various places — including a barbecue joint, a retirement home, and a dinner theater — and inevitably haps upon a death she feels compelled to solve. (Viewers already know who the culprit is; the fun is in watching Charlie notice the details and unravel the clues to nail them.)

Guest stars in Season 1 include two-time Oscar® winner Adrien Brody (The Brutalist, The Pianist); Oscar® nominees Hong Chau (The Whale), Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry), and Nick Nolte (The Prince of Tides); Primetime Emmy® winners Judith Light (for her guest appearance in Poker Face), Ellen Barkin (Before Women Had Wings), and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Create Together); Primetime Emmy® nominees Ron Perlman (Beauty and the Beast) and Benjamin Bratt (Law & Order) (in a recurring role), amongst others.

Season 2 finds Charlie’s journey taking her from one murder mystery to another in the worlds of minor league baseball, big box retail, a funeral home, an alligator farm, and beyond. Along the way, she meets an eccentric lot of characters played by Oscar® nominees Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick); Golden Globes® winner Awkwafina (The Farewell); Primetime Emmy® winner John Mulaney (John Mulaney: Baby J); Primetime Emmy® nominees Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent), Jason Ritter (Parenthood), and Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black); Katie Holmes (Dawson’s Creek), Method Man (Power Book II: Ghost), and many more.

Poker Face: Season 2 premieres in the US with three episodes on Thursday, May 8, exclusively on Peacock. New episodes of the twelve episode season will drop every Thursday through July 10.

Created, written, directed, and executive produced by two-time Oscar® nominee Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Glass Onion), the series is showrun and executive produced by Tony Tost (The Terror, Longmire); executive produced, directed, and written by Natasha Lyonne; and executive produced by Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman.
