Netflix has set the global premiere date for Bad Boy, a searing teen prison drama from Israel.

Inspired by true events, Bad Boy explores the themes of youth, redemption, brotherhood, and friendship through the powerful story of teenager Dean Scheinman.
On one fateful night, Dean’s (Guy Menaster) life is changed forever. Hauled from his home by correctional officers, he is imprisoned in a highly-secured juvenile detention facility. It isn’t long before Dean gets caught up in the inner workings of this hellhole, where he forms a complicated bond with another juvie inmate, Zoro (Havtamo Farda). Both must rely on the skills they came in with and the insights they’ve gained here in order to survive and hold onto their humanity, from street smarts and humor to notoriety.
As an adult, Dean (Daniel Chen) becomes a successful comedian. However, his past threatens to destroy his life in the present.
Bad Boy premieres globally on Friday, May 2, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
The winner of seven awards, including Best Drama Series, at the Israeli TV Academy Awards, the critically-acclaimed Bad Boy is co-created and co-written by showrunner Ron Leshem (co-creator of the original Euphoria, on which the hit HBO series is based) and filmmaker Hagar Ben Asher (Long Bright River), who also directed the entire series.
