Hijos del Desierto: Episodes 123-134 (Sons of the Desert) (Chile)

Set in northern Chile against a backdrop of political upheaval and international intrigue in the 1930s, this drama opens two decades before, in 1907, when the parents of brothers Pedro and Gaspar are killed by the government while protesting for better working conditions in the salt mines. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the young boys are forcibly separated. After the Quake (Japan)

Based on the hit British TV series and international format Doc Martin, this brand-new comedy-drama series stars Josh Charles (The Good Wife, Sports Night) as Dr. Martin Best, a brilliant surgeon who abruptly leaves his illustrious career in Boston to become the general practitioner in the quaint East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child. Voces: American Sons (US)

This edition of PBS’s Latino-focused Voces program features the documentary American Sons, which follows a brotherhood of Marines a decade after their deployment to Afghanistan. Set in Moscow in 1977, this espionage thriller centers on two “ponies” — “persons of no interest” in spy speak — who work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. Bea (Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones, Me Before You) is an over-educated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants.
