Today Amazon Freevee announced the premiere date for Season 2 of the US-Philippines action-crime drama Almost Paradise. Check out the trailer.
Fans of Almost Paradise, rejoice! The series is returning with a new season!
For folks who haven’t watched this fun and action-packed crime drama, it stars Christian Kane (Leverage: Redemption, The Librarians) as Alex Walker, a former DEA agent who took early retirement due to his partner’s betrayal and a life-threatening battle with hypertension. To get as far from the madness as he could and enjoy a peaceful life, Alex moved to the island of Cebu in the Philippines. But the place isn’t as he remembered it; instead of a quiet and serene place, it’s full of tourists and criminals.
Still, he stays, and gets pulled back into a world of dangerous people and deadly situations — either through his friends in the local police, Detective Kai Mendoza (Samantha Richelle, How Are You?) and Ernesto Alamares (Art Acuña, The Bourne Legacy), or encounters with people from his old life — all while renovating and running the the gift shop in the island’s luxury resort hotel, which attracts the rich, powerful, and sometimes criminal elite from around the world.
In Season 2, Alex is left questioning his place on the island, but with the help of Kai and Ernesto, he discovers a new sense of family that keeps him anchored in paradise — as he continues to fight bad guys.
Filmed entirely in the Philippines, Almost Paradise: Season 2, a Freevee Original, premieres in the US and UK as a ten-episode binge on Friday, July 21, exclusively on Amazon Freevee, where Season 1 (see teaser below) is currently available for streaming.
