Netflix has announced the production of the new South Korean drama series Two Women (WT), starring Kim Go-eun, Park Ji-hyun, and Kim Gun-woo.
New K-drama Two Women (WT) chronicles the journey of two friends who have an enduring yet complicated love-hate relationship. The series stars Kim Go-eun (Little Women, The King: Eternal Monarch) as the charming Ryu Eun-jung, Park Ji-hyun (Reborn Rich, Love All Play) as Cheon Sang-yeon, who becomes Eun-jung’s best friend and rival, and Kim Gun-woo (The Glory, Record of Youth) as Kim Sang-hak, a college student and photographer who plays a crucial part in the complex relationship between the two women.
The story traces Eun-jung and Sang-yeon’s friendship from their school days to their twenties and thirties — revealing how their lives are intricately linked as they cross each other’s paths during various life phases; exploring the intricacies of their complex friendship as they navigate life challenges, feeling both care and envy for each other; and showing how their bond changes over time. Then, at 42 years old, they reunite once again, this time in the face of a profound challenge: Sang-yeon’s battle with cancer.
The narrative delves into the two women’s shared past, their separate paths to becoming a screenwriter and a successful film director, and the enduring impact they’ve had on each other’s lives.
The series is directed by Jo Yeong-min (Attack the Gas Station! 2) and written by Song Hye-jin (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes).
Stay tuned for updates.
