Sundance Now has set the premiere date for the South African mystery-crime thriller series White Lies, starring Brendon Daniels and Natalie Dormer.
For folks in the US and Canada, a new murder mystery series is headed our way: White Lies.
Set in the wealthy neighborhood of Bishopscourt in Cape Town, South Africa, the series follows Edie Hansen (Natalie Dormer, Game of Thrones, The Tudors), an investigative journalist who gets caught up in the ugly underbelly that lies beneath the picturesque beauty of the city, dragging her back to her turbulent past.
Following the murder of her estranged brother in his luxury home, Edie’s world plunges deeper into chaos when his teenage children become prime suspects for the crime. As Edie investigates, she finds herself at loggerheads with veteran detective Forty Bell (Brendon Daniels, Cape Town, Four Corners), and grapples with the crumbling local police force, a corrupt political system, and the secretive world of extreme Cape wealth.
White Lies premieres in the US and Canada with two episodes on Thursday, December 5, on Sundance Now, with new episodes dropping every Thursday through the season finale on January 16.
Costars in the series include Langley Kirkwood (Warrior), Daniel Janks (The Mauritanian), Morgan Santo (Raised by Wolves), Daniel Schultz (Upon the Edge), and Caely-Jo Levy (Escape Room), amongst others.
