A vibrant and heartwarming (and probably tearjerker) drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines follows “the remarkable rebel” Ae-sun and “unyielding iron” Gwan-sik through the four seasons of life, spanning from Jeju Island in the 1960s to Seoul in 2025.

The younger Ae-sun and Gwan-sik are played by IU (Persona, Hotel del Luna, My Mister) and Park Bo-gum (Wonderland, Record of Youth, Reply 1988), respectively, and the older characters by Moon So-ri (Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, Hellbound, Queenmaker) and Park Hae-joon (The 8 Show, 12.12: The Day, Arthdal Chronicles).

Ae-sun is a dream-filled literary girl who grows into a spirited rebel with an aspirational nature, while Gwan-sik is a devoted man who faces challenges with determination and grace. As they grow into their mature selves, they navigate their lives with resilience and strength.

When Life Gives You Tangerines, a Netflix Series, premieres globally with four episodes on Friday, March 7, exclusively on Netflix, with four new episodes dropping each Friday through March 28. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

The cast also includes Kim Yong-lim (Tomorrow), Na Moon-hee (Navillera), Yeom Hye-ran (The Uncanny Counter), Oh Min-ae (The Glory), Choi Dae-hoon (Captivating the King), Chang Hyae-jin (Parasite), Cha Mi-kyeong (Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?), Lee Soo-mi (Hospital Playlist), Baik Ji-won (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), Cheong Hae-kyun (The Whirlwind), Oh Jung-se (Mr. Plankton), and Uhm Ji-won (The Trunk).
