Netflix has set the global premiere date for Copycat Killer, the highly-anticipated crime thriller from Taiwan. Check out the (disturbing) teaser.
Adapted from renowned Japanese mystery writer Miyuki Miyabe’s bestselling novel of the same name, Copycat Killer tells the story of the first-ever serial murder case in Taiwan.
Set in 1990s Taipei, the series follows no-nonsense prosecutor Guo Xiaoqi (Kang Ren Wu, Mom, Don’t Do That!, Shards of Her) as he handles his first-ever serial killer case. The media-savvy multiple murderer takes advantage of the widespread interest in the case and turns it into a national spectacle, fueling both gossip and notoriety. Guo vows to solve the case, even if it means putting his life on the line — only to realize that things are not what they seem. Meanwhile, the killer repeatedly makes a mockery of law and justice as he seeks to destroy peace and order in society.

Costarring alongside Wu are Alice Ko (Silicon Valley), Tuo Tsung-hua (Code 2), Yao Chun-yao (Detention), Fandy Fan (More than Blue: The Series), Cammy Chiang (Light the Night), and Hsia Teng-Hung (Detention), with a guest appearance by Ruby Lin (Light the Night).
