Inspired by the eponymous book by Bruna Vieira, the new season of this comedy-drama finds 30-year-old Anita needing to go back to age 15 to try to fix the life of her sister, Luiza. However, her partner, Joel, has hacked her Floguinho account and also becomes a time traveler. After a disastrous day of meddling in everyone’s lives, Anita returns to 2021, only to discover her perfect day in Paris with Henrique never happened. Everything is different. What now? Anita and Joel need to join forces and put everything back on track and fix the future. In the midst of all this, she still has to decide who she wants to be with: Henrique, Joel, or the improbable and irresistible Fabrício.

Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire (US-South Africa)

This action-packed, animated sci-fi anthology presents ten futuristic visions from Africa, inspired by the continent’s diverse histories and cultures. Executive produced by Oscar®-winning director Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), these ten short films, made by a new generation of animation creators, draw on uniquely African perspectives to imagine brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters.

Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, a Disney+ Original, premieres globally as a ten-episode binge on Wednesday, July 5, exclusively on Disney+.

Rebellion (Colombia)

This biopic-docudrama film follows the life of Joe Arroyo (played by Jhon Narváez, Birds of Passage), arguably the most important Colombian salsa singer in history.

Shadow Detective: Season 2 (South Korea)

The new season of this mystery-crime thriller continues the story of Kim Taek Rok (Lee Sung-min, Juvenile Justice), a veteran detective who, while waiting to retire, is blackmailed by the mysterious caller known only as “Friend” and becomes a suspect in the murder of a colleague. Season 2 opens roughly a year and a half after the Season 1 finale, with Kim Taek Rok having transferred from the Violent Crimes Unit to the Women and Juveniles Unit of the police, and continuing to dig to unmask the identity of the “Friend.” Then he gets another call, one that signals the cat-and-mouse game between Kim Taek Rok and the “Friend” is afoot again — and will end only when one or the other is dead.

Shadow Detective: Season 2 premieres globally on Wednesday, July 5, exclusively on Disney+, including in the US, where the series will screen on Hulu.

Sweet Kaaram Coffee (India)

Created by award-winning writer-producer Reshma Ghatala (Thanga Meengal), this slice-of-life drama series follows three women of different generations living in the same house, who attempt to put themselves before the people they are bound by for the first time. Stepping out, they react to the world as the world reacts to them, as they discover much on their journey of fun, fumbling, and finding themselves.

Adhura (India)

Set at an elite boarding school, Adhura reveals just how terrifying the repercussions of a past deed can be in the present. It’s 2022, and the Nilgiri Valley School is hosting the fifteenth reunion for the batch of 2007 students. But the celebration isn’t filled with happy memories and laughs-filled catching up for all of the former students. For Adhiraj Jaisingh, it is a time of reckoning. He must now face what he did fifteen years ago.

Meanwhile, strange events have been occurring at the school, and they seem to be connected to Vedant, a 10-year-old new student. Then, when Vedant and Adhiraj’s paths collide, things take a horrifying turn — when a dark secret begins to reveal itself and threatens the lives of everyone on campus.

This comedy series stars Dalilah Polanco (La Rosa de Guadalupe) as Regina, a psychologist who decides to write a book about the different personalities of men, for which she will interview five chavorrucos — middle-aged men who behave in ways more typical of younger people. Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen (Philippines)

Kim Chiu (One Great Love, The Ghost Bride) stars in this new comedy-drama series as Melanie, a young woman who grew up in her father’s thrift store, where she learned to sew and developed an interest in fashion. After a raging fire shuts down the business, Melanie is offered the chance of a lifetime, and it looks like her dream of being a designer is coming true. However, the Filipino fashion industry is a fast-paced and cutthroat world; while handsome young fashion executive Chris (Jake Ejercito, A Family Affair, The Broken Marriage Vow) is supportive of Melanie, plenty of others are out to sabotage her. Melanie perseveres, though, and finds herself on a journey toward self-awareness, empowerment, forgiveness, and the possibility of true love.

The Horror of Dolores Roach (US)

Justina Machado (One Day at a Time) stars in this comedy horror series as Dolores Roach, who, after serving an unjust 16-year prison sentence, returns to a gentrified Washington Heights. Here she reunites with an old stoner friend, Luis, who lets her live and work as a masseuse in the basement under his empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is driven to shocking extremes to survive.

Based on the “Burn the House Down” graphic novel series by Moyashi Fujisawa, this revenge drama sees the home of the affluent Mitarai family go up in flames. Suspected of burning it down is young Anzu Murata’s (Mei Nagano, Creator’s File: Gold) mother, who is forced to leave with her two daughters. Thirteen years later, Anzu visits the Mitarai residence in the hope of becoming the family’s new housekeeper; after meeting the owner’s beautiful and intimidating second wife, Makiko (Kyoka Suzuki, Grand Maison Tokyo), she lands the job. The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem: Season 2 (Israel)

La Narcosatanica (Mexico)

This docuseries tells the dark and chilling story of Sara María Aldrete Villarreal, a convicted Mexican multiple murderer who committed ritualistic killings in the 1980s as the right-hand person of Cuban-American serial killer, drug dealer, and cult leader Adolfo Constanzo. The program features archival footage, interviews with journalists and specialists, and re-creations of the events that led to Sara’s arrest and guilty plea, despite there being insufficient evidence against her.

Quicksand (Colombia)

Written by Matt Pitts (Westworld), directed by Andrés Beltrán (Wild District), and starring Carolina Gaitàn (Encanto) and Allan Hawco (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), this English-language thriller follows an American couple who, on the brink of divorce, travel to Colombia for a work conference. While on a hike through the rainforest, a storm causes them to become trapped in a pit of quicksand. Unable to move, they must work together in a struggle for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle and a venomous snake in order to escape.

Almost Paradise: Season 2 (US-Philippines)

In the new season of this fun, action-packed crime drama, former DEA agent-turned-hotel gift shop owner Alex Walker (Christian Kane, Leverage: Redemption, The Librarians) questions his place on the Philippines island of Cebu, as he still feels like an outsider here. But with the help of his police friends, Detective Kai Mendoza (Samantha Richelle, How Are You?) and Ernesto Alamares (Art Acuña, The Bourne Legacy), Alex discovers a new sense of family that keeps him anchored in paradise — even as he keeps getting pulled into deadly situations with dangerous people, including those from his old life.

The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman, The Undoing) and Donald Westfield (Michael Kelly, House of Cards), enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira, Locke & Key) to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA’s efforts to thwart the next 9/11.

Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) stars in this comedy-drama as Yoon Hong Dae, a professional soccer player on disciplinary probation after being caught up in an unexpected incident. Sintonia: Season 4 (Brazil)

Following on from the Season 3 finale, the new season of this crime drama finds Nando (Christian Malheiros, 7 Prisoners), in his quest for redemption, forced to deal with the severe consequences put on his friends and family. Doni (Jottapê, Brazil Avenue), damaged from the shooting, struggles to take a new turn in his career, but finds a new path in other people’s dreams when returning to his origins. The Lady of Silence: The Mataviejitas Murders (Mexico)

This true-crime documentary centers on Mexico’s first serial killer. Back in 2000, older women were being strangled in their own homes in Mexico City, and the victims’ profiles caused never-before-seen social outrage and media coverage. Witnesses described the suspect as tall, robust, and strong, passing off as a nurse to earn the victims’ trust, and the Attorney General’s Office employed all its resources and efforts to catch the killer. Then in January 2006, after more than 40 murders, several failed arrests, and multiple contradictions, a woman was detained in broad daylight. Her name: Juana Barraza, known in the world of lucha libre as “The Lady of Silence” and baptized by the media as “The Old-Lady Killer” — a nickname that has become part of Mexico’s dark history and its pop culture. This comedy series centers on Isabel (Monica Iozzi, Turma da Mônica – Lições), a screenwriter who has dedicated her life writing a nighttime soap opera for the coveted 9pm slot. When she finally gets the opportunity, she is betrayed by her mentor, Lauro Valente (Miguel Falabella, Take It, Give It), who steals the slot with a project of his own. At the premiere, Isabel decides to confront him and magically ends up in his production as the protagonist. Dark Winds: Season 2 (US)

Based on Tony Hillerman’s “Leaphorn & Chee” (later “Leaphorn, Chee & Manuelito”) crime novel series, and set in Navajo Nation in the 1970s, the new season of this award-winning crime thriller sees Tribal Police cop Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon, The Son, Longmire) reunite with his former deputy, Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon, The Red Road, Roswell, New Mexico), now a private eye, when their separate cases bring them together in pursuit of the same suspect. They find themselves in the high desert of Navajo Country, chasing a killer who’s turned his sights on them to protect a secret that rips open old wounds and challenges Leaphorn’s moral and professional code. With the help of Tribal Police Sgt. Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten (Tribal, Burden of Truth) and Valencia County Sheriff Gordo Sena (A Martinez, Longmire, Days of Our Lives), Leaphorn and Chee must thwart their would-be assassin and restore balance to their own lives and to the reservation that depends on them.

Dark Winds: Season 2 premieres Sunday, July 30, at 9pm ET/PT on AMC, with new episodes airing weekly on Sundays. Episodes will be available earlier for streaming on AMC+ and its digital channels, including AMC+ on Amazon; this early access starts Thursday, July 27, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
