Apple TV+ has released the trailer for Season 2 of the global hit murder mystery comedy series The Afterparty from Oscar®-winning creators Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
The Afterparty revolves around a new whodunit each season, with each episode exploring a different character’s account of that fateful evening — all told through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective.
Reprising their roles for Season 2 are Tiffany Haddish (The Last O.G.) as Detective Danner, Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso) as Aniq, and Zoë Chao (Love Life) as Zoë. Joining them are John Cho (Searching), Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai), Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken), Anna Konkle (PEN15), Poppy Liu (Hacks), Elizabeth Perkins (Sharp Objects), Jack Whitehall (Good Omens), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley), and Vivian Wu (Away), who play new characters in the show.
In the ten-episode second season, a wedding is ruined when the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect. Detective Danner returns to help Aniq and Zoë solve the whodunit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers, and business partners, and hearing each suspect’s retelling of the weekend with their own unique perspective and visual style.
The Afterparty: Season 2 premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 12, exclusively on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through September 6.
