Freevee, Amazon’s free advertising-supported video-on-demand streaming service, recently added the following eight drama and comedy TV series from Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa to its ever-expanding offerings of global TV titles in the US.

GHANA

The Oseis

This comedy series stars Andrew Adote (Beasts of No Nation) as Nana Kwadwo Osei, who relocates his family from Kumasi to Accra after winning the lottery jackpot. Now that he’s become rich and famous overnight, he and his family have to deal with everything that comes with the new money, including their extended family members and intrusive neighbors. NIGERIA

Awkward Things About Losing Weight

Bukky Wonda (The African Family) stars in this comedy series as Tobi, a young woman on a weight loss journey who is working hard to overcome the challenges that come with it — from the strict regimen set forth by her trainer in order for her to continue shedding pounds, to criticism from her mother, nagging from a co-worker, and more.
