Netflix has announced the start of production on the new South Korean mystery series The Trunk, which will star Seo Hyun-jin and Gong Yoo.
Seo Hyun-jin (Another Miss Oh, The Beauty Inside, Black Dog) and Gong Yoo (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Squid Game, The Silent Sea) lead the cast of The Trunk, whose story revolves around what happens after a mysterious trunk is found in the depths of a lake.
Music producer Jeong-won (Gong Yoo) finds himself in an unexpected marriage contract with second wife In-ji (Seo Hyun-jin), who works for the NM matchmaking and marriage agency, after his ex-wife, Seo-yeon, arranges the whole thing.
In-ji and Jeong-won’s lives take a twist when a mysterious trunk found in the lake throws them into a whirlwind of secrets and events behind the matchmaking service.
Written by Park Eun-young (Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth) and directed by Kim Gyu-tae (Our Blues), The Trunk will premiere globally exclusively on Netflix (date tba).
