Set on the MSC Bellissima, a massive luxury cruise ship headed for the Aegean sea, In Love and Deep Water follows Suguru (Ryo Yoshizawa, Kingdom, River’s Edge), the ship’s loyal butler, and Chizuru (Aoi Miyazaki, Rage, Here Comes the Morning), a mysterious woman who isn’t supposed to be on the ship but is.

Suguru sees his life turned upside down the day he encounters Chizuru, who claims that their respective partners are on the verge of cheating. She tries to convince him that they have to stop the cruise and go back to Japan to prevent their partners from cheating when one night, they and five other passengers witness a dead body floating in the rooftop pool. Strangely, all but Suguru pretend they haven’t seen anything. While trying to unravel the murder mystery, Suguru and Chizuru are gradually drawn to each other.
