Netflix has set the global premiere date for Analog Squad, a new period drama series from Thailand.

Analog Squad

Set in 1999 — a time when people worried about the Y2K bug, mobile phones were only meant for calling, and Google wasn’t yet a verb — Analog Squad  is a heartwarming series that follows the twists and turns of a pretend family against the backdrop of a world entering the new millennium.

The story revolves around Pond (Nopachai “Peter” Jayanama, Voice), a middle-aged man who recruits various individuals to form a makeshift family to be with him at his estranged father’s deathbed in an effort to make his dad proud one last time. Pond ropes in former girlfriend, Lily (Namfon Kullanut, Fatal Destiny), to act as his wife and the mother to his fake children, who are actually Keg (JJ-Krissanapoom Pibulsonggram, In Family We Trust), a playful teenager who works at a pager company, and Bung (Primmy-Wipawee Patnasiri, Fast & Feel Love), a tomboyish girl who owns a video rental shop. Along the way, the four learn what it means to be a family while pretending to be one.

Analog Squad, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Thursday, December 7, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

Directed, co-written, and created by Nithiwat “Ton” Tharathorn (My Girl, A Gift), the series’ cast includes Surasee Ithikul, Viyada Komarakul-Nanakor (I Need Romance), Kasap Champadip, Yoko Takano (The Rooms), and Thanida Manalertruengkul (This I Promise You).
