Paramount+ announced today the premiere date for Season 2 of the hit mystery thriller The Envoys (Los Enviados). Check out the trailer!
The award-winning series The Envoys (Los Enviados), the top-performing Spanish-language scripted series on Paramount+ in the US, follows two Vatican priests, Pedro Salinas (Luis Gerardo Méndez, Narcos: Mexico, Club de Cuervos) and Simón Antequera (Miguel Ángel Silvestre, 30 Coins, Sky Rojo), as they investigate mysteries related to the religious.
In Season 1, Pedro and Simón travel to the small Mexican town of San Acacio to verify a supposed miraculous healing by a local priest, who then mysteriously disappears. Shortly thereafter, they discover on the outskirts of town a psychiatric community that seems to be hiding secrets about the missing priest, the miracles, and other disappearances — pushing their lives and their faith to the limit.
Season 2 sees Pedro and Simón delve into a web of mystery and murder in a convent in the Galician region of Spain. With three blind nuns bearing witness to a supposed miracle, the battle between lies and faith escalates. As the two priests probe deeper, tragedy strikes with the sudden demise of their host, Joaquin. Now entangled in a dual investigation, they must confront not only the mystical, but also a much earthlier truth.
Assira Abbate (Empire of Lies) returns as Sister Emilia in the eight-episode second season, along with new cast members Marta Etura (The Legacy of the Bones), Susi Sánchez (The Innocent), Charo Zapardiel (Dangerous Moms), Cristina Marcos (El Internado), Ricardo de Barreiro (Cocaine Coast), Isabel Naveira (Infiesto), Miquel Insúa (Operación Marea Negra), Pepo Suevos (The Beasts), Guillermo Carbajo (El Internado), Francis Lorenzo (Dime Quién Soy: Mistress of War), Carlos Olalla (Stories to Stay Awake), and Luis Iglesia (Alba).
The Envoys: Season 2 premieres globally as a full-season binge on Thursday, December 7, exclusively on Paramount+.
