Hulu Original series Dragons of Wonderhatch is a hybrid live action and animated action-adventure series that follows Nagi (Sena Nakajima, Momosanto 7-nin no papageno), a girl in the “real world” who has sound-color synesthesia — a unique ability that allows her to see colors when she hears certain sounds. Because of this, she has spent her entire life feeling like she doesn’t belong.

Dreaming of one day being able to fly, Nagi comes face to face with Thaim (Daiken Okudaira, Village) from the animated world of Upananta, who has long been made fun of and treated like an outcast for his inability to hear the voices of the dragons that inhabit his land.

With the floating islands of Upananta slowly beginning to fall from the sky, these two misfits set off on an epic adventure spanning both of their worlds.

Dragons of Wonderhatch premieres tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20, with two episodes, exclusively and simultaneously in the US and globally on Hulu and Disney+, respectively.
