The new season of this biopic-crime drama series continues the storyline of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr., Euphoria) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi, All American), who fostered the Black Mafia Family (BMF), one of the most influential crime families in the country. Set in the early 1990s, Season 3 sees Meech move to Atlanta, where he hopes to build upon the BMF empire in the south that he and Terry fostered in Detroit.

In Bloom (international)

This anthology of five short films spanning countries and cultures delves into the complexities of gender issues by following characters on the brink of life-defining moments, either by choice or by circumstance. The collection tells unheard stories that address a range of crucial issues, including period poverty, child marriage, gender-based violence, HIV self-stigma, family planning, and women’s economic empowerment.

My Name Is Loh Kiwan (South Korea)

In this character-driven drama, North Korean defector Loh Kiwan (Song Joong-ki, Vincenzo) sets out to fulfill his mother’s dying wish — to find a place where he can truly own his name and live on his own terms — by traveling to Belgium to seek refugee status. However, he ends up in limbo with no means to make a living or put a roof over his head.

Meanwhile, Marie (Choi Sung-eun, Beyond Evil), who used to represent the Belgian national shooting team but is now battling her inner demons, happens upon an exhausted Kiwan and steals his wallet. A heated confrontation between them ensues. It is only when Marie realizes the wallet is Kiwan’s only memento from his mother that the two begin to be drawn to each other and bond over their shared experiences and emotions.

This action crime drama follows Chen Kui-Lin (Ethan Juan, The Abandoned), a criminal who, after learning that he is Taiwan’s third most-wanted fugitive, embarks on a quest to overtake the top two.

Catch Me a Killer (South Africa-UK)

Based on Catch Me a Killer, the nonfiction book by Micki Pistorius, this new biopic/true-crime drama series stars Charlotte Hope (The Spanish Princess, The English Game, Game of Thrones) as Micki Pistorius, a journalist-turned-psychologist who became South Africa’s first serial killer profiler. The series tells her true story.

In 1994, against the backdrop of a country getting used to democracy, Micki joins a police task force that is on the hunt for a notorious serial killer known as the Station Strangler — a multiple murderer who has left a trail of 22 dead boys in his wake. While finding her feet in a male-dominated arena, Micki battles with her status as an outsider in the police force and in the community she serves, dealing with the looming specter of her personal life and confronting increasing darkness in her quest to trap and understand some of South Africa’s most infamous serial killers.

ARA San Juan: The Submarine that Disappeared (Argentina)

This docuseries investigates the disappearance of Argentine naval submarine ARA San Juan, which vanished from all radars on November 15th, 2017, with 44 crew members on board. The search paralyzed the country, while relatives waited for a miracle and relentlessly asked for news of their beloved.

For What It’s Worth (US)

This drama follows Naomi Samuels (Patrice Covington, Genius), a successful physician who finds herself publicly humiliated and suddenly unemployed. After reluctantly returning to her hometown to reconnect with the foster care siblings she’s neglected for years, hopeful about regaining control of her life, Naomi and her siblings face a challenge that takes them all over the edge.

In this comedy, three childhood best friends pull a prank that goes wrong, so they invent the imaginary Ricky Stanicky to get them out of trouble. Twenty years after creating this “friend,” Dean (Zac Efron, The Greatest Showman, “High School Musical” films), JT (Andrew Santino, Beef, I’m Dying Up Here), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler, A Murder at the End of the World, Superior Donuts) still use the nonexistent Ricky as a handy alibi for their immature behavior. When their spouses and partners get suspicious and demand to meet the fabled Mr. Stanicky, the guilty trio decide to hire washed-up actor and raunchy celebrity impersonator “Rock Hard” Rod (John Cena, Barbie, Fast X) to bring him to life. But when Rod takes his role of a lifetime too far, they begin to wish they’d never invented Ricky in the first place.

Satanic Hispanics (US)

In this first all-Latino horror anthology, police raid a house in El Paso, Texas, and find it full of dead Latinos. The lone survivor, known as The Traveler, tells the police that those lads are full of magic, and talks about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth, as well as about the portals to other worlds, mythical creatures, demons, and the undead.

Queen of Tears (South Korea)

Set in the cutthroat realm of corporate intrigue, this romantic comedy series weaves a tale of love, resilience, and evolution as it follows Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji Won, Descendants of the Sun, Lovestruck in the City), the queen of department stores, and Baek Hyeon-u (Kim Soo Hyun, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, My Love from the Star), the prince of supermarkets, as they weather a marital crisis — until love miraculously begins to bloom again.

Eye Love You (Japan)

In this romantic comedy-drama series, a bizarre aftereffect of an accident allows Yuri Motomiya (Fumi Nikaidô, Vivant, River’s Edge) to be able to hear other people’s inner voices when she looks into their eyes. It’s a skill she doesn’t want, since she can’t help but learn things she doesn’t want to know and ends up feeling hurt by what others think. This causes her to be reticent about sharing her feelings, to keep a safe emotional distance from people, and to give up on falling in love.

But then one day Yuri meets Yoon Tae Oh (Chae Jong-hyeop, Unlock My Boss, Nevertheless), a younger Korean student who has a bright, friendly personality, is loved by everyone around him, and is straightforward and pure when it comes to love. When she happens to make eye contact with him, she hears his inner thoughts and voice — but she doesn’t understand them because they’re in Korean! Bandidos (Mexico)

In this action-adventure crime drama, Miguel (Alfonso Dosal, Narcos: Mexico), Lilí (Ester Expósito, Elite), Wilson (Juan Pablo Medina, The House of Flowers), and other bandits embark on an adventure in the Mexican Caribbean after discovering an ancient map, hoping to find the long-lost Snake King’s treasure in the Maya Riviera.

Inkabi (South Africa)

This drama follows Frank (Tshamano Sebe, Ludik, Of Good Report), a retired hitman who has chosen to disappear and start his life anew as a private taxi driver in Johannesburg, one of the biggest crime capitals in Africa. Although he has one rule — “never get involved” — Frank still befriends Lucy (Michelle Tiren, Volume, Murder Camp), a young woman on a downward spiral of drugs and high-class prostitution. When Lucy witnesses the murder of one of her clients, a prominent millionaire in the city, she manages to escape, but the killer is after her, forcing her to turn to Frank, her only friend, for help. Inspired by The New Yorker article “Little Wing: When Homing Pigeons Leave Home” by Susan Orlean, about the world of pigeon racing, this drama follows Kaitlyn, a teen who is reeling from her parents’ divorce and the pending loss of her home. She and her best friend hope to solve her mother’s financial woes by stealing a valuable bird, but Kaitlyn ends up forming a bond with the owner, leading her to a new outlook on life.

The cast includes Brian Cox (Succession) as Jaan, the pigeon racer; Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone) as Maddie, Kaitlyn’s mom; Brooklynn Prince (Cocaine Bear) as Kaitlyn; and Che Tafari (Me Time) as Adam, Kaitlyn’s classmate and friend.

24 Hours with Gaspar (Indonesia)

Based on the novel 24 Hours with Gaspar by Sabda Armandio, and set in Indonesia in the near distant future, this dystopian action-crime feature stars Reza Rahadian (Innocent Vengeance) as Gaspar, a detective who has just 24 hours to live — and plans to make good use of them by robbing a jewelry store with five other people. Meanwhile, Gaspar learns a few things related to the mysterious disappearance of his childhood friend, Kirana, which points him in the direction of Wan Ali (Landung Simatupang, Cigarette Girl), a criminal involved in a human trafficking syndicate.

From Dreams to Tragedy: The Fire that Shook Brazilian Football (Brazil)

This three-part docuseries investigates the tragic fire that took the lives of ten young people at Ninho do Urubu, the Flamengo club’s training center, in Rio de Janeiro. It follows the professional careers of some of the fire’s survivors — young people who spent a part of their lives at Ninho do Urubu and whose careers have very much moved on. It also features journalists, football professionals, and the victims’ families, as they continue to search for answers. In moving accounts, parents voice their pain and reveal how they have been fighting to get justice for their children since the tragedy occurred.

In addition to personal accounts, the series features never-before-seen images of the fire and recreates moments from that night. The reconstruction plays an important part in the debate about the causes of a tragedy that has left a lasting mark in the history of Brazilian football. In an effort to offer a social reflection in memory of the victims and to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again, it also deals with the direct consequences of the judiciary’s inertia with regard to the fire.

Based on James L. Swanson’s New York Times best-selling and Edgar Award-winning nonfiction book, Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer, this true-crime limited series is a conspiracy thriller about one of the best known but least understood crimes in history: the astonishing story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth in the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.

It traces his extraordinary career and creative journey — including revelatory, never-before-seen footage from such historic moments as the recording of Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water and Simon’s solo album Graceland, the duo’s unforgettable reunion concert in Central Park in 1981, and, ten years later, Simon’s solo concert there, where he performed in front of 750,000 people.

Road House (US)

Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Nightcrawler) stars in this adrenaline-fueled action film, a reimagining of the ’80s cult classic that starred Patrick Swayze, as Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter trying to escape his dark past and his penchant for violence. Dalton is barely scraping by on the reputation that still precedes him when he is spotted by Frankie (Jessica Williams, Shrinking), owner of a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. She hires him to be her new bouncer in the hopes of stopping a violent gang, one working for crime boss Brandt (Billy Magnussen, No Time to Die), from destroying her beloved bar. Even five to one, Brandt’s crew is no match for Dalton’s skills. But the stakes get higher with the arrival of ruthless gun-for-hire Knox (Conor McGregor, UFC 25 Years in Short). As the brutal brawls and bloodshed escalate, the tropical Keys prove more dangerous than anything Dalton ever faced in the Octagon.

The trio includes Win (James Teeradon Supapunpinyo, Girl from Nowhere), a computer engineer dropout who leads the team in marketing planning; his best friend, Dear (Ally Achiraya Nitibhon, Brother of the Year), a graphic designer who also oversees PR; and Game (Peach Pachara Chirathivat, OMG! American Rust: Broken Justice (Season 2) (US)

Following on from the events in Season 1, based on Philipp Meyer’s critically-acclaimed novel American Rust, the new season of this crime drama opens four months after the shoot-out in West Virginia. Del Harris (Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom, The Looming Tower) is back at the Pittsburgh P.D., struggling to find balance between his life in the big city and the one with his love, Grace Poe (Maura Tierney, The Affair, ER), in the Rust Belt town of Buell. At work, Del and his new partner, Detective Angela Burgos (Luna Lauren Velez, Dexter), are assigned a high-profile bombing case that proves to be quite complex.

Grace’s son, Billy (Alex Neustaedter, Colony), accepts a financial settlement for his injuries from his time in prison and uses the money to buy Grace the property they lived on, which she uses to give herself new economic/work opportunities. Billy and Lee (Julie Mayorga, Rare Objects) try to figure out their relationship with each other as they navigate their own futures; she’s working as a paralegal at a law firm in Pittsburgh, while he’s decided to move on with his life by moving in with his best friend/her brother, Isaac (David Alvarez, West Side Story). For his part, Isaac, who has fully embraced his sexuality and is pursuing new romantic situations, has decided to make a life for himself in Buell and is working for Landwill Energy.

Meanwhile, Grace’s ex-husband, Virgil (Mark Pellegrino, Supernatural), is still up to his old ways and manages to get money from Grace to pursue a new business opportunity. Steve Park (Rob Yang, Succession) has taken over for Del as the Chief of Police in Buell, intent in taking Del down and proving his connection to the crimes that happened in West Virginia.

As each of them deals with their respective goals and issues, the town of Buell is rocked by more murders that create chaos in the lives of all of its residents.

This docuseries centers on j-hope, a member of the global phenom K-pop group BTS, highlighting his story and love for dancing as he begins a new journey in his 12th year since his debut, and returning to his dancer roots. We Were the Lucky Ones (US)

Based on We Were the Licky Ones, Georgia Hunter’s New York Times bestselling novel, itself inspired by the incredible true story of one Jewish family separated at the start of WWII, this period drama follows them across continents as they do everything in their power to survive and to reunite.

Starring Joey King (The Act) and Logan Lerman (Hunters), We Were the Lucky Ones, a Hulu Original, premieres in the US on Thursday, March 28, exclusively on Hulu.

Heart of the Hunter (South Africa)

Adapted from Heart of the Hunter, the first novel in Deon Meyer’s “Lemmer Thrillers” series, this spy thriller follows a retired assassin as he is pulled back into action when his friend uncovers a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of the South African government. Heart of the Hunter, a Netflix Film, premieres globally on Friday, March 29, exclusively on Netflix.

Madu (Nigeria-US)

This documentary follows 12-year-old Anthony Madu, the Nigerian boy who became a viral sensation after a video showed him dancing ballet barefoot on a rainy street outside Lagos, as he leaves his family and community in Nigeria to study in England at one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world.
