Paramount+ today announced that the final season of the hit supernatural series Evil will premiere this May, and that four bonus episodes have been ordered.
Today’s news from Paramount+ is both exciting and bittersweet for fans of Evil, including yours truly. (Evil and The Envoys were the two shows that prompted me to get a subscription.) It’s awesome that the show is coming back with its fourth season plus bonus episodes; it’s awful that they will be the last-ever new episodes of the show.
Season 4 will premiere in May 2024 (date tba), and the four bonus episodes are set to start production soon in New York City for a thrilling series finale.
Said Robert and Michelle King, co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers of Evil:
“We want to thank Paramount+ for giving us four bonus episodes to end EVIL in the world in style. We will miss this show and cast. In many ways it was a dream project, but sadly evil will outlast EVIL. See you in May.”
For folks who may not be familiar with Evil, it’s a psychological thriller-supernatural mystery series that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. It does this by following a trio who investigate out-of-the-ordinary events — supposed miracles, demonic possessions, hauntings, and the like — to determine if there is a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
Delving into these events are the team of Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers, Manhattan, Divorce), an atheistic forensic psychologist and married mum of four daughters; David Acosta (Mike Colter, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones), a former journalist-turned-Catholic priest-in-training who investigates paranormal occurrences as an assessor for the Church; and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi, This Way Up, Blue Bloods), an atheist raised in the Islamic faith who provides technical expertise to the team.

The cast also includes Michael Emerson (Person of Interest), Andrea Martin (Only Murders in the Building), Kurt Fuller (Psych), Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope), Brooklyn Shuck (Rise), Skylar Gray (Fresh Off the Boat), Maddy Crocco, Dalya Knapp (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and Patrick Brammall (Colin from Accounts).
Evil is produced by CBS Studios in association with King Size Productions. Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Sam Hoffman serve as executive producers. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Evil: Seasons 1-3 are currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
Stay tuned for updates.
