Apple TV+ released today the official trailer for Dark Matter, the upcoming sci-fi thriller series starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. It’s intense. Check it out.
Yet another Apple TV+ title that’s been added to my to-watch list.
Based on the blockbuster book Dark Matter by New York Times best-selling author Blake Crouch, hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, the sci-fi thriller Dark Matter is a story about the road not taken.
The nine-episode series stars Joel Edgerton (The King, Zero Dark Thirty) as Jason Dessen, a physicist, professor, and family man who, while walking home one night in Chicago, is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.
Dark Matter premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, May 8, exclusively on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through June 26.
The cast includes Oscar® winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Alice Braga (A Murder at the End of the World), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), Dayo Okeniyi (Shades of Blue), and Oakes Fegley (The Fabelmans).
Crouch serves as the series’ creator, executive producer, showrunner, and writer alongside executive producers Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions. Edgerton also serves as executive producer. Dark Matter is produced for Apple TV+ by Sony Pictures Television.
