Netflix has set the global premiere date for Mr. Plankton, a new Korean romantic comedy series. Check out the teaser.
Woo Do-Hwan (Bloodhounds, The King: Eternal Monarch) and Lee Yoo-Mi (No Gain No Love, Strong Girl Nam-soon) star in Mr. Plankton as Hae Jo, a man born of a mistake with little chance for happiness, and Jo Jae-Mi, Hae Jo’s ex and an unhappy bride-to-be.
Because no one, including Hae Jo (Woo Do-Hwan, Bloodhounds, The King: Eternal Monarch), knows who his real father is, he is left loveless, as this fact makes people think that he is like an impure substance among them. Perhaps like a plankton. Then one day, Hae Jo learns news that will change his life in more ways than one — he has a brain tumor and little time left to live — so he decides to go look for his real father.
Meanwhile, Jo Jae-Mi has always wanted to have a family. She is going to marry Eo Heung (Oh Jung-Se, Sweet Home), the successor in the Eo Family, which operates a food company. They, including matriarch Beom Ho-Ja (Kim Hae-Sook, My Demon), don’t like Jo Jae-Mi as Eo Heung’s wife, but accept her because he told them that she is pregnant. Except she can’t be, due to premature menopause.
As fate would have it, Hae Jo reappears in Jo Jae-Mi’s life — on her wedding day — to whisk her away, ostensibly to save her from her impending marriage by helping her to escape. So, she runs away with him, accompanying him on his journey to find his real father.
Mr. Plankton, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, November 8, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
