Netflix has announced At the Moment, a new romance anthology series from Taiwan. Check out the teaser.
Set against the backdrop of the pandemic, At the Moment is a new anthology series that explores the multiple facets of love — portraying ten different stories about human connection and intersecting lives, woven together by the making of a reality dating show.
Said Executive Producer Nick Tai:
“At the Moment is an original script that screenwriter Tu Cheng-che and I developed during the filming of Light the Night. Taiwan experienced months of isolation during the pandemic, which changed the dynamics between people but created different connections. We observed a surge in various genres of storytelling, but noticed the absence of urban romance stories that used to be prevalent. Therefore, we decided to develop a love story related to the pandemic. We hope to bring this story to the international stage to showcase the diversity of Taiwanese storytelling.”
Screenwriter Tu Cheng-che commented:
“We decided to open the series with the first episode centered around a reality dating show, where real thoughts and feelings remain hidden from the camera. By opening the series with this episode, I hope that viewers will be able to identify their own authentic moments of love throughout the series.”
The cast includes Gingle Wang (Wave Makers), Wu Kang-ren (Copycat Killer), Ruby Lin (Copycat Killer), Alyssa Chia (Mom, Don’t Do That!), Dee Hsu (Meteor Garden), Austin Lin (Marry My Dead Body), Esther Liu (Light the Night), Huang Lu Tzu-yin (aka Lulu), Tseng Jing-hua (Detention), Vivian Sung (Taiwan Crime Stories), Puff Kuo, Kelly Lin (Reign of Assassins), Derek Chang (Light the Night), Terrance Lau Chun-him, Shiou Chieh-kai (Light the Night), Berant Zhu (Danger Zone), Nash Zhang, Nikki Hsieh (Light the Night), Johnny Yang (The Devil Punisher), and JC Lin (Shards of Her).
At the Moment, a Netflix Series, premieres later this year (date tba) exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)
Written by Tu Cheng-che (Light the Night), the series is directed by lead director Lien Yi-chi, alongside Ray Wu, Kao Pin-chuan, Norris Wong, and Remii Huang. It is produced by Chang Ya-ting and Shiou Chieh-kai, and executive produced by Nick Tai.
Stay tuned for updates.
