Netflix has set the premiere date for The Price of Confession, a new murder mystery thriller series from South Korea that, based on the teaser, looks really good. Check it out.

Hmm. If you ever find yourself being questioned by the police for a crime you say you didn’t commit (let’s say murder, for example), take a hint from the teaser for The Price of Confession and don’t do certain things.

If only art teacher Yun-su (Jeon Do-yeon, Kill Boksoon, Crash Course in Romance) had known not to do them. On a fateful day, her life is upended when she finds her husband bleeding (and eventually dying) on the floor. Utterly distraught, she calls emergency services, yet when police question her at the station, Yun-su’s rather odd behavior arouses suspicion. Calm and smiling, she asks for a coffee and says she’s watched the crime drama series, CSI. Not a good idea. Soon, she’s back to screaming that she’s innocent after she’s charged, arrested, and found guilty of murder and sent to prison.

Behind bars, Yun-su she meets Mo Eun (Kim Go-eun, You and Everything Else, Little Women), a mysterious young woman who, aside from being a murderer and a psychopath, is feared by fellow prisoners for being a witch. (Alrighty, then.) Interestingly, Mo Eun offers to confess that she killed Yun-su’s husband, but Yun-su will have to do something for her in return.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Baek Dong-hun (Park Hae-soo, Squid Game) risks his beliefs and his honor when he starts digging into these two women’s secrets, while Yun-su’s lawyer, Jang Jeong-gu (Jin Sun-kyu, Aema), searches for the truth to prove his client’s innocence.

The Price of Confession, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Friday, December 5, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

The series is directed by Lee Jung-hyo (Crash Landing on You) and written by Kwon Jong-kwan (Proof of Innocence).
