OJ’s Accomplice (US)
More than three decades after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, this docuseries challenges one of the most enduring assumptions surrounding the case: that O.J. Simpson acted alone. The program takes a fresh look at the case, exploring questions and theories that have persisted for many years. It reexamines the crime scene and key evidence, and features exclusive interviews and previously-unheard firsthand accounts, including those of the original Defense Investigator, Pat McKenna, Lead Detective Tom Lange, and DEA Agent Robert Brisolari.
The two-parter also brings together testimony from members of Simpson’s original defense team; Nicole’s friend, Kato Kaelin; a former roommate of A.C. Cowlings, the latter being the driver of O.J. Simpson’s Ford Bronco during that infamous 1994 car chase; Nicole’s sister, Tanya Brown; and a newly-identified eyewitness. Taken altogether, the documentary uncovers new firsthand information concerning the possible involvement of an accomplice, raises provocative new questions about what happened on June 12, 1994, and asks whether the full story has ever been told.
OJ’s Accomplice, a Peacock Original, premieres in the US on Sunday, November 1, exclusively on Peacock.
Coming Home: From Shadowland to Spiritworld (US)
This feature-length documentary follows the Kashia Band of Pomo Indians’ journey to reclaim their ancestral lands on the Sonoma Coast after 170 years of displacement. Shot over a period of 14 years in a cinéma vérité style, it allows the Kashia to tell their own story without a third-party narrator as they confront the legacy of historical trauma, the return to their sacred places like Metini, and reveal how restoring land can help renew identity, resilience, and community.
The film tells two stories in parallel timelines. The first is the contemporary story of the Kashia’s successful efforts to repatriate lands taken from them in the 19th century and ongoing attempts to connect with family members descended from the women who were taken to Russia at the end of the Russian colonial enterprise. The second is the historical story of the Kashia and the tribe’s relationships with European colonists and settlers that led to their long exile from their coastal homeland.
