Fans of Good Morning, Verônica, rejoice! Netflix has announced that filming has started on the third and final season of the hit Brazilian mystery-crime thriller.
The start of filming on Season 3 of Good Morning, Verônica is one part of the good news. Another is that multi-award-winning actor Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld, Wolf Pack, Boundless) has joined the lead cast of the series, along with Brazilian stage and screen star Maitê Proença (Tolerance, A Hora Mágica), who makes her Netflix debut in the series.
In addition to series star Tainá Muller (Bingo: The King of the Mornings), cast members returning for the final season — which consists of just three episodes — include Klara Castanho (Confessions of an Invisible Girl), Reynaldo Gianecchini (Verdades Secretas), Camila Márdila (A Mother’s Love), Adriano Garib (Magnífica 70), Ester Dias (Nobody’s Looking), Liza Del Dala (Pantanal), Alice Valverde, César Mello (The Mechanism), DJ Amorim (Impuros), and Johnnas Oliva (O Negócio).
For folks who aren’t familiar with the series, Good Morning, Verônica follows Verônica Torres (Tainá Muller), a wife and mother of two who works as a clerk in the homicide department of the São Paulo Police. The action kicks off when Verônica witnesses a suicide and days later gets an anonymous call from a woman desperate for help. Determined to figure out what’s going on, Verônica sets about using all of her investigative skills to dive into the cases of the two victims — a girl who fell prey to a scammer, and a wife subjugated by a murderous man. As Verônica delves deeper into these investigations, she faces wickedness that endangers her family and her life.
Created by Raphael Montes (It’s All Right) from the novel Bom Dia, Verônica, which he wrote with Ilana Casoy (The Boy Who Killed My Parents) under the pseudonym Andrea Killmore, Good Morning, Verônica is executive produced by Montes, Casoy, and José Henrique Fonseca, who directs the series, along with Eduardo Pop.
