Starting July 1, 2023, Journy brings stateside audiences “African Adventures,” a month-long focus on a specially-curated selection of shows that take place all around Africa.

Headlining “African Adventures” is Journy’s premiere of Journeys in Africa, an awe-inspiring nature travel series that will help unlock the mystery surrounding the second-largest continent in the world. This series showcases the range of culture, art, architecture, and wildlife of Africa — with each episode highlighting a different city, region, or national park, and featuring incredible wildlife sequences coupled with inspirational human interest stories.

Other titles in the curated lineup include:

  • On Safari: Take a tour of Africa’s most spectacular safari lodges in this beautifully-shot 4K travel series. From sunrise wildlife encounters at the watering hole, to sunset cocktails by the pool, get a taste of luxury living at these extraordinary retreats. Combining comfort with adventure, Ghanaian-born host Sika Osei takes viewers into the heart of the African wild while indulging in the comfort and hospitality of the most incredible and luxurious Big 5 safari lodges on the continent. Meet the architects, chefs, and park rangers, and get up close with the wildlife itself, to discover what makes these travel destinations truly world famous.
  • Lost Kingdoms of Africa: We know less about Africa’s past than of any other continent on Earth. In this docuseries, British art historian and expert Dr. Gus Casely-Hayford explores the rich and vibrant histories of the African continent, telling fascinating stories of the complex and sophisticated kingdoms of Asante, Zulu, Berber of Morocco, Bunyoro, and Buganda. Despite the lack of written records, the histories of these kingdoms emerge from artifacts and oral traditions of the people.
  • David Rocco’s Dolce Africa: In this series, celebrity chef David Rocco explores the rich and diverse cultures and culinary worlds of Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and South Africa. From ancient tribal villages and rural working farms, to breathtaking natural parks and big bustling cities, David fully immerses himself and the viewer in sights, sounds, and tastes, shattering our preconceived notions of a continent that’s struggling to survive and instead painting a picture of an Africa that is strong, proud, and beautiful — the Africa of the future.
