Reporting for Duty is a new Brazilian workplace comedy series that follows the hectic and humorous events at a police station in the Tijuca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, where a new — and bumbling — chief has just started.

Suzano (Leandro Hassum, Os Caras de Pau) was born and raised in the (fictional) city of Campo Manso in rural Rio de Janeiro state. After accidentally capturing a fugitive criminal affiliated with an illegal gambling ring, he finds himself transferred to the center of the action: Rio itself. As the new police chief, Suzano is in over his head, and the 8th Precinct of Rio de Janeiro is turned upside down. None of his colleagues believe he’ll last very long here. But his rather unconventional methods, along with his huge heart, might be just the secret weapon they need to take a bite out of crime.

Reporting for Duty, a Netflix Series, premieres globally on Wednesday, September 6, exclusively on Netflix. (You can set a reminder for it now.)

The series costars Luciana Paes (3%) as Inspector Mantovani, Jefferson Schroeder (A Divisão) as police clerk Estevão, Babu Carreira (O Dono do Lar) as Detective Inaê Guerra, Digão Ribeiro (Dom) as Detective Rabecão, Taumaturgo Ferreira (Magnífica 70) as Detective Alcebiades Pardal, Cauê Campos (The Followers) as Detective Kauã Wi-Fi, and Josie Antello (Under Pressure) as Zuleide, master of the kitchen.

Additional cast members include Aline Borges (Good Morning, Verônica), Bruno Cabrerizo (A Time to Love), Pedro Wagner (Second Call), Renan Tenca (3%), Louise Cardoso (Time After Time), Elisa Pinheiro (Soap Opera), Leandro Ramos (The King of TV), Júlia Guerra (Pantanal), Cleber Salgado (Macho Man), George Sauma (Under Pressure), Raphael Ghanem (An Unforgettable Year: Autumn), Valentina Melleu (Irmãos BAZUCA), and Fábio de Luca (One Against All), amongst others.

Reporting for Duty is produced by Camisa Listrada from an original concept by Leandro Hassum, Fabíola Alves, Gui Cintra, and Nigel Goodman. Pedro Amorim is the lead director, with Hassum and Carol Minêm also directing. The writers are Carol Garcia, César Amorim, Edu Araujo, Fabíola Alves, Gui Cintra, Pedro Emanuel, Pedro Perazzo, and Victor Rodrigues.
