Prime Video has set the global premiere date for Abandoned: The Woman in the Decaying House, a new true-crime docuseries from Brazil.
In Abandoned: The Woman in the Decaying House, a victim, after a thirty-year silence, shares new and disturbing details of the horror she experienced in the house of the woman who became known throughout Brazil as the woman with white cream on her face.
The three-part docuseries delves into the case that brought Brazil to a standstill in July 2022: A rather peculiar woman who lived in a decaying mansion in a privileged neighborhood of São Paulo was accused, along with her ex-husband, of assaulting and keeping a domestic worker illegally in the United States for almost twenty years. The program continues the investigation conducted by journalist Chico Felitti in one of the country’s most listened podcasts, and explores the fascination with the then-accused, Margarida Bonetti. In addition, unpublished details are unearthed with the FBI and experts connected to the case, and memories previously suppressed by trauma come to light.
Abandoned: The Woman in the Decaying House, an Amazon Original Series, premieres globally on Friday, August 15, exclusively on Prime Video.
A production of Amazon MGM Studios, the docuseries is directed by Katia Lund (City of Men), along with Livia Gama and Yasmin Thayná (Love Is for the Strong), and executive produced by Chico Felitti and Katia Lund.
